Lasagna

Instructions

Method

⁃    On medium heat sauté celery, bell peppers, onions, and garlic in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes

⁃    Add turkey to the skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes stirring occasionally

⁃    Add salt, pepper, liquid smoke, tomato sauce, and chicken stock

⁃    Let the mixture simmer for 7 to 10 minutes

⁃    Mix in ¼ cup of cheddar and ¼ cup of Mozzarella cheese and stir until melted

⁃    Stir in oregano seasoning for extra flavor

⁃    Cut the lasagna pasta shell in half and add lasagna between the shell halves

⁃    Layer with the remaining cheeses and top with a slice of tomato and basil

  • ½ pound ground turkey
  • 1 precooked whole wheat lasagna pasta shell
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 ½ tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup chicken stock
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 slice of tomato
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped basil
